Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Manufacturing AI Support service (the "Service") operated by [COMPANY NAME] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

The Service lets a workspace upload trusted documents and ask questions. Document-grounded answers are generated only from retrieved, permission-scoped sources and, for open sources, include citations. The Service is not a general-purpose chatbot and will not invent specifications, procedures, or safety guidance that is missing from those sources.

Accounts

You must register with a verified email address. An unverified address cannot create a workspace or use the Service. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.

Workspaces

A self-registered user receives a workspace they own. Membership in a workspace that holds someone else's content happens only by invitation. You may invite others into a workspace you own. Content in a workspace is isolated from other customers' workspaces.

Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • upload documents you do not have the right to use or share;
  • systematically extract, scrape, or otherwise reconstruct the Service's document corpus or another customer's content through repeated queries or any other means;
  • attempt to access another workspace or circumvent permission controls;
  • use the Service to break the law or to generate content you know is harmful.

AI-generated answers

Answers are informational. They must be verified against the controlling document before you act on them. They are not engineering advice, safety advice, or a substitute for qualified judgment. Manufacturing work may involve lockout/tagout, arc flash, confined space, and similar hazards; treat any answer that touches those topics as a pointer back to the source, not an instruction. We do not fabricate missing facts; a missing documented fact is reported as unanswered, not guessed. Residual risk remains yours.

Third-party model providers

Uploaded document text and questions are sent to third-party model providers to generate embeddings and answers. The current providers are Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI. Their paid API terms currently state that they do not train on API inputs; that statement is pending confirmation against each provider's current terms and data-processing addendum, which [COMPANY NAME] will execute before relying on this clause.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, for abuse, or if we discontinue the Service. Account and workspace deletion on request is not yet self-serve; contact us and we will process the request manually.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, [COMPANY NAME] is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made from answers that were not verified against the source document.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
